Dissertation Boot Camp is a writing retreat for graduate students who must balance their dissertation writing with the demands and responsibilities of home and work. Boot Camp offers students a quiet space to write without distractions or interruptions. The CWR provides a light breakfast, lunch, snacks, and individual spaces for focused writing.
Boot Camp develops writers’ ability to set effective goals and to track their own writing processes. In addition to providing a dedicated space for a weekend of writing, Boot Camp helps students find sustainable writing habits that move their work forward. In addition, we become a community of writers committed to completing our dissertations on schedule, supporting and cheering each other on, and sharing strategies and experiences to help each other navigate the dissertation process with our sanity intact!
Dissertation Boot Camps are open to students who are ABD (have been advanced to candidacy). Students in the dissertation proposal stage and students working on Master’s theses can apply, but preference will be given to ABD students.
